A Christmas Meme!

I have been tagged by Mummy and The Beastie to participate in this festive meme originating from Mummy Alarm. It’s a good one so you might want to join in!

1. The Christmas song I can even listen to in June is…
My favourite Christmas song is the very cheesy ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ by Mariah Carey. I love it. It puts me in such a good mood and I cant help but "sing" along to it. I remember one year at Uni when I drove my house mates crazy by playing it over and over haha. I was sooo annoying!
2. Hot Chocolate, Egg Nog or Mulled Wine?
OOhh a lover of hot chocolate and mulled wine its a close one for me. If pushed I would have to go for the latter. I guess you can have hot chocolate at any time but mulled wine is only around at Christmas. I have very fond memoires of the Christmas markets in Germany and enjoying a little mulled wine...mmmmmm
3. When do you put your decorations up?
This year we put it up the first weekend in December but only because we are going away next week. If we put it up any later it almost wouldn't have been worth it. I love Christmas and I love decorations!
4. What are you having for Christmas dinner?
Being veggy it wont be turkey for me. I'm spending Christmas at my parents this year and Mum is trying a new recipe out. All I know is its a Jamie Oliver one and something to do with wild mushrooms. I will be having it with Marmite roast potatoes, vegetables and Christmas pudding....delicious!
5. What’s your favourite Christmas Tradition?
As children we used to go to Midnight mass and were allowed to open one present afterwards.  Last year Husband and I started a new tradition of our own where the girls and us all had new pjs to open.  We are going to keep this going!
6. Have you ever gone carol singing?
When I was younger I did but I have a terrible voice.
7. When did you discover the truth about Santa?
I was about quite old when I stopped believing....about 9 I think. I had heard something at School about it not being true and asked my parents. They denied it of course so that night I stayed up waiting. I could hear presents being wrapped and waited and waited. My Mum kept coming in and telling me to go to sleep. In the end I pretended to be asleep and she put my full stocking at the end of my bed.  The next day I told her I had been awake and she made me promise not to tell my Sister.
8. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
I love white lights and pretty colours. This year ours is blue, pink, purple, and teal. At the top we have a very fluffy looking blue and white fairy. Its very girly and has lots of wooden fairies on it.
9. What’s the best thing about Christmas?
It has to be spending time with family.  It doesn't matter where we are or what we do as long as we are together. This year I am particularly looking forward to spending it with a believer. Poppy is 3 now and really believes Father Christmas is going to come down the Chimney. I am looking forward to leaving out a drink and mince pie for him and water and carrots for reindeer with her.
10. All I want for Christmas is…
To see the faces and excitement on my little girls when they wake up.

I'm A Celebrity Meme For Mums

This really is the week for meme's. I have been tagged into another one from New Mum Online and this one is called  I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Blogger Fun. It was started by Kate on Thin Ice.

The rules are as follows

1) Answer the 10 questions and consider the mission.
2) Tag a blogger or two or more to do the same
3) Come back to me and tell me you have done the questions and answers.

So jumping straight in:

1. What one thing about being a parent makes you scream “Get me out of here!”

When I am not being listened too or ignored. I do not want to be one of those Mums or Wives that nags and shouts but sometimes when no one listens to me I would love to scream "Get me out of here". I wonder what sort of reaction that would get!

2. What skills, if any, do you have that would be useful in the jungle?

I am a bit of a tidy freak so would happily help keep the camp tidy. I am also friendly and approachable so would be a lovely person to chat to or confide in.

3. How are you likely to annoy people if your were stuck with them for 3 weeks?

I am a bit giggly and silly so I could easily annoy boring people.

4. What is the worst thing you have ever eaten?

My diet is pretty bland, I am a very fussy vegetarian and don't like anything to rich. I cant remember what the worst thing I have ever eaten is but smelly cheeses, anything buttery and sprouts are all at the top of list.

5. What luxury item would you take into the jungle with you?

It would have to be my slimpod as I would be lost without it. It would help me relax, fall sleep easily and unlike the others, not worry about food!

6. What is the most daring thing you have ever done?

I jumped into a pool and waterfall in the middle of the Brunei jungle. Looking back now it could have had anything in it including snakes!

7. Who would you miss most if you went into the jungle with a bunch of strangers?

My children and Husband, it would be hard to leave them behind

8. What celebrity alive or dead would you like to have with you in the jungle?

It would have to be someone who could make me laugh!

9. What would scare you about being in the jungle?

All the creepy crawlies, snakes, rats shall I go on? I couldn't do it myself

10. After leaving the jungle, you go to a luxury hotel. What would be the first thing you did on reaching your hotel?

I would have to give my family huge hugs and kisses and then jump into a hot shower!

11th mission should you choose to accept it is to tell us why the person who tagged you is a star.

New Mum Online has been pretty quiet for months but it appears she is back on track now.  I have been following her blog and journey as a new mum since I started blogging and met her at CybermMummy 2011, she is lovely and has a gorgeous little boy who is the same age as Rosie.

The Websites I Could Not Live Without

I have been tagged by the lovely Hannah over at Mummy and The Beastie to participate in another great Meme. This one was started by Emma at Mummy Musings. It’s about the websites that we can’t live without.

Since Husband has been working away for the past few months, I have been a bit addicted to my laptop and could not live without it. Once the children are in bed I settle back and browse to my hearts content as well as blogging, tweeting and using other social media networks. How did people survive without all this in the past?

Sites I visit everyday at the moment are:

My blog
I do appear to be blogging most days at the moment. This is not intentional, I just cant help it. I have had a lot of reviews to catch up on, have had a lot to say and now I have been tagged into a number of memes. Like I said, Husband has been away so evenings have been boring by myself anyway! Now that he is back though, I imagine I will calm down.

Gmail/Yahoo mail
Since starting my blog I am inundated with emails offering fabulous review opportunities and notes telling me others I follow have posted on top of the usual emails I receive. I check my mail several times a day or else they would get swallowed up and missed.

Twitter
This has been my lifeline with Husband away. Its like having friends in the room with me. Sad but when you have two little girls in bed its not as if I can get out much. It feels good that I have met some of you already so its not quite as freaky as it sounds!

Ebay
I have only just started using ebay myself, Husband has had an account for years and has always done the bidding. I have actually managed to acquire some beautiful Coast dresses for ridiculous prices lately which I am impressed with. With Husbands job, a wife needs gorgeous dresses to wear to the parties and I now have several new ones.

Facebook
I have a personal account on my phone which I do check most days now. I then have an account linked to my blog too, so I try and check that every few days too. I must admit the personal one was neglected for a bit when I first started blogging becuase I would upload pictures straight to my blog rather than facebook. I'm starting to get the balance right now though.

All in all a complete social network addict. I do visit various other sites including favourite online shops but will save all that for another day!

5 Things My 3 Year Old Says That You Wont Catch Me Saying

I have been tagged into a meme by the lovely Mummy Mishaps where I have to state 5 things my little one says that I never will.

My little girl Poppy is three years old now and growing up way to fast. She is always coming out with things that make me laugh. These are some of the things that Poppy says on a regular basis that make me smile but you would never catch me saying:
  1. I'm not tired and don't want to go to bed yet
  2. Tickle me harder/ tickle me faster
  3. Hang me upside down please Daddy
  4. Spin me around and around
  5. I don't want my hair done today

She really is a cheeky monkey.

If you want to join in then all you have to do is:
  • Come up with 5 things that your child, children or even your Husband say's that you never do!
  • If your baby doesn't yet speak then you can make them up based on what you think they would say if they could speak.
  • Then tag others to do the same
  • If you haven't been tagged and you want to join in then please do.
  • Then please link up your post to The Crazy Kitchen linky here  so Helen  can laugh at them read them too. Don't forget to ask those you tag to do the same please.

The Place I mostly Blog From

I  have been tagged by the lovely Helen over at The Crazy Kitchen to reveal my Blogplatz, the place I blog from most. Well I couldn't wait to join in with this one.

It has to be the living room. I love this room (except the carpets). It is pretty large and spacious and since we changed the Dinning room into a Toy room is mostly clutter free. A few toys do creep in throughout the day but when Rosie goes down for a nap at lunch time, I whiz around and plonk everything back in there again.

I mostly blog in the evenings when the girls are in bed. But I sometimes do a little when Rosie is down for her nap. Monday and Wednesday's Poppy is at School then anyway, so I sit quietly with a cup of coffee and enjoy the peace but only after cleaning up.

The other days Poppy and I tend to have a bit of quiet time after lunch for about an hour.  She likes to watch some cartoons and will sometimes bring in something to play with and sit on the rug with it. I might do a little blogging and check my emails. After that hour she tends to perk up and get fidgety so then I put the laptop away and we play!

Now this house is not ours, it comes with my Husbands job but look.....I love the view from this window. It is gorgeous and very relaxing. At times it can even provide the inspiration I need when I am stuck for what to write:

So there you have it, the place I blog from most. The question is though ..... Slattern or Saint?

I am going to link this in with the following people

10 Things You Don't Know About Me

I have been tagged into this wonderful meme by the lovely Mummy Mummy Mum. The idea behind this is is that I share 10 things about me that you didn't already know so you can get to know me better.

Okay here we go:
  1. I hate the colour green (except for on my new Pink Lining Yummy Mummy bag)
  2. I am a terrible driver and had quite a few crashes.  Once I even drove off my driveway and turned right. Blinded by the sun I pulled in to find my sunglasses and crashed into a car...whoops!
  3. I love travelling and would love to live abroad again
  4. Husband and I are childhood sweethearts aaahhhh!! We got together at 17 and have been stuck together ever since (19 years)!
  5. I loved my Wedding Day and would love to do it again...same man of course!
  6. I am a little OCD, I have been known to hoover and mop x3 a day (after meal times) and have banned dogs from visiting our home
  7. I was once holding a ladder so my landlord could put a big box of my stuff in the attic for storage, I let go and he fell and broke his collar bone .... (whoops again!)
  8. I have a degree in Psychology and wanted to be a Clinical Psychologist
  9. My little girl has Dual Nationality as she was born in Canada
  10. I hate the sight of blood or sick, hoping my daughters are never ill as Daddy isn''t any good either
So there you have it, 10 things you now know about me that you didn't before.

I am a bit late in doing this so lots of people I know have already done it, hoping these four lovely people haven't yet:
