Advice Required On Maternity Bras

Okay, at 18 weeks pregnant my body is changing shape and I can tell I need to get measured for some new bras. They are fine during the day but by the evening they are starting to feel uncomfortable and I cant wait to get them off.

In my past two pregnancies I wore the soft cup maternity ones right from the start. However, this time round I have been much more reluctant to give up my under wire. To be honest, I am terrified the 3rd pregnancy and feeding again might finish them off and cause them to become droopy!

So what do you recommend? Are there any makes out there that you love or perhaps you have tried  under wire maternity bras. I would value your opinion.

I want something that is pretty and girly - ideally not plain black or white, comfortable and most importantly supportive. So far, I have not found it. It doesn't help that I live in the middle of nowhere so am unable to get to a decent shop. 

Oh and at a reasonable price would be nice too. The only  ones I have found and love cost a fortune so I could only afford one set. I think I need at least two.

Mummy's Weekend Off

In case you missed my post on Friday, this Mummy has just enjoyed her first weekend off!  


I enjoyed a wonderful weekend with my Sister and her family.  I got to meet my new little nephew who is absolutely perfect and enjoyed lots of precious baby cuddles. I also got to see my other Nephew and enjoyed lots of lovely time with him too.  It really was perfect:

On the day I arrived I was also lucky enough to see the lovely Hannah and her son (Mummy and the Beastie) too.  I haven't seen her since CyberMummy so it was great to catch up. She is looking fabulous with her teeny, tiny bump and Beastie is very cute too. He played very well with my little Nephew!


I even got to go shopping and with no children or pushchair it was a real treat.  Devon is very pretty but the shops are terrible and for a shopaholic very disappointing.  Therefore shopping in Kingston was heaven.


I treated my girls to a few new things from my favourite shop Jojo Maman Bebe. I went slightly mad and brought vests, tops, dresses and cardigans for them both but they are both despertae for some Winter clothes. I have my eye on a few more dresses so if relatives want to buy Christmas presents and are stuck for ideas i will be able to point them out:

This dress really is gorgeous so I brought them one each. They come in lots of colours including a lovely purple.

I brought this one for Poppy. It has pink stiching and is very cute.

I brought this pretty pink cardigan for Poppy and the matching dress too. They didn't have Rosie size or she would have had one too. Instead I managed to get her this one:

She already has a few skirts and dresses that will look perfect with it so she will look very cute.

Rosie looks gorgeous in this colour and these long sleeve vests will look fantastic under her pinafore dresses.

I also got to treat my Sister to a delicious Starbucks.  I enjoyed a very yummy peppermint hot chocolate and skinny blueberry muffin.  It was really good and a very nice treat!

Husband managed with the girls perfectly well without me. They all missed me and I of course missed them too but he did really well. When he collected me from the Station, the girls were dressed lovely, their hair wasn't quite the same but he had made a good effort, he had left a casserole in the oven and the house was reasonably clean and tidy. I was suitably impressed.


I am actually feeling a little refreshed after having a weekend away but  was ready to see my family again! I won't be doing it again in a hurry but it was really lovely.

The Gallery - Guilty Pleasures

When I saw that this weeks topic over at the gallery was guilty pleasures I knew immediately what I would write about.

With two gorgeous little girls it easily has to be shopping!!

Girls clothes are so pretty. I love everything girly and of course pink!! A little bit of purple is creeping into their winter wardrobes but most of it is pink: bright pink, light pink I don't mind. Spotty, stripy or plain it does not matter as long as it is pretty. You will not find any trousers in there or anything too grown up, most of it is traditional girls dresses, and pretty cardigans, funky tights and tutus.

They each have a denim skirt and dress but no jeans for these girls. There is plenty of time for that! I am really fussy with colours too and can not stand all the browns, oranges and dull colours that appear to be in the shops this season. No I want to keep my little girls looking like little girls, pretty, girly and young, after all they are only 3 years and 14 months old.

I live in the middle of nowhere on the coast in South Devon and while it is very pretty the main drawback is that there are no shops to indulge in my guilty pleasure, probably good for our bank balance! Instead I resort to the internet. I love it when the girls are asleep, I settle back with either a glass of wine or cup of coffee and browse my favourite sites, purchasing when I see something I love.

Husband's done the shopping!

I have not been feeling my usually bubbly, happy self this weekend as I have a horrible cold. My eyes are puffy and watery, my nose keeps running and my throat is all dry and scratchy! My little girl has also been poorly for the past few days too. I thought it was her teeth but now think she has been feeling the same as me.

Anyway, I have not been very organised and forgot to do the online Sainsbury's shopping."Don't worry" said Husband "I will go". So armed with a small shopping list (we don't need much this week) off he went with Poppy to accompany him.

They were gone a while and I was starting to worry a bit...after all they only went for a few things!

Well when they returned they had much more than was on the list! Considering I have been on a high protein/ low carb diet and our little girls don't eat this sort of thing he came back with all of this (as well as the usual stuff):

Now he is cooking them all sausage casserole for Supper. I think I could just about manage a nice cup of tea and one of those chocolate biscuits or two!!

Husband away so Wife's been internet shopping!

Husband has been working away this week but is back tonight ...yippeee!! Anyway, whenever he goes away, I get a little bored and lonely and always end up doing a little shopping to cheer myself up. We are not  particularly loaded this month as have splashed out on some new furniture which is coming soon, so I have been making the most of the sales.

Then having been through Poppy's wardrobe and decided that she was in desperate need of new clothes I brought her:

Poppy seems to have had a growth spurt recently and is starting to grow out of her clothes. To be honest on closer inspection she didn't have that many clothes in 2-3, a lot of them were still 18-24 month so no wonder they don't fit! Anyway, I brought this little bundle in 3-4 years so they should fit for a while.

In total this little lot came to £70...a bargain I thought!  Debenhams have a half price sale on at the moment and have free delivery too, definitely worth checking out.

I also picked up a few dresses from Laura Ashley who had a 3 for 2 offer on.  They are absolutely gorgeous:

So that is Poppy sorted out for the summer, she still needs cardigans, underwear, nightwear etc but its her Birthday soon  so we are hoping she might get some as presssie's!  Little girls cost a fortune but their clothes are very cute.

Luckily Rosie doesn't need anything just yet as she has a wardrobe fit for a princess! I will be sorting through the clothes she has though and see what she needs for the Autumn - Winter.

Girls day out

Today we had a lovely girls day out shopping.  I had promised if Poppy was good for a whole week we could treat her to some new crafty stuff and she really has been so off we went. First we went to the ELC where we treated Poppy to a new bumper pack of soft stuff tools and dough, a collage jar and some A3 bright card.  Rosie also got some little bells that she took a liking too and shook for the whole shopping trip with a big smile on her face.

Next we headed off to next where I treated myself to a pretty new top.  By this time the girls were starting to flag so we headed to M&S for some lunch.  They had a lovely little cafe we have not been to before which was really nice.    The girls were very well behaved and I felt really proud of them.  Little Rosie did look like she was advertising Tommee Tippee though. She had all of these:

Then it was time to head home for a nap.  All in all a pleasant day for all.  I love my girls and days like today make me smile!
