Beautiful Fairy Costumes From The Dressing Up Chest

We are huge fans of dressing up in this house and have been very lucky to be sent a beautiful box of girly goodies to review from the wonderful Libby over at The Dressing Up Chest.

Both girls were sent tutus, satin tops, fairy wings and wands. Perfect for these two little fairies:

Delighted, the girls could not wait to get them on.

The tutus are bright and colourful with big satin bows. They are very full so they stick out beautifully:

The girls love them and have lived in them since the box arrived. In fact Poppy wants to wear hers to her ballet lesson this weekend, I have a feeling the other girls will all want one.

The sizes are good and stretch well. They are not as soft as some of the other tutu skirts we have but the girls don't appear to have noticed. They love them!!

The silky soft tops are very pretty and good sizes. They should definitely fit for a while! They came delicately wrapped in soft pink tissue paper, which as well as protecting them, made us feel pretty special opening them. I like the way they do up with Velcro too. It makes it so easily to put them on and take off. They really are very pretty.

The wands are gorgeous, we have a pink one and a white one. The girls love waving them about and Poppy keeps trying to turn me into a frog. Lucky for me she cannot really do magic...I would much rather be a Princess!

The fairy wings are very pretty and delicate. We have a pink pair with pink and silver glitter and a white pair with silver glitter. They are very sparkly and have elastic that goes around the arms to keep them in place. Poppy tells me they are very comfortable and very pretty too!

All in all a beautiful box of goodies fit for a princess or princesses in this case. They should fit for a long time so will provide hours of fun and enjoyment.

In fact the box they arrived in has also provided lots of entertainment too:

I would say that The Dressing Up Chest is the perfect place to visit if like me you have not yet done your Christmas shopping and have little ones you would like to spoil this year.

For the record we were sent two tutus, two satin tops, two pairs of fairy wings and two wands for the purpose of this review. However, all words and opinions are my own!

The Gallery - Guilty Pleasures

When I saw that this weeks topic over at the gallery was guilty pleasures I knew immediately what I would write about.

With two gorgeous little girls it easily has to be shopping!!

Girls clothes are so pretty. I love everything girly and of course pink!! A little bit of purple is creeping into their winter wardrobes but most of it is pink: bright pink, light pink I don't mind. Spotty, stripy or plain it does not matter as long as it is pretty. You will not find any trousers in there or anything too grown up, most of it is traditional girls dresses, and pretty cardigans, funky tights and tutus.

The top shelf of Poppy's Wardrobe

Lots of dresses for Rosie too
They each have a denim skirt and dress but no jeans for these girls. There is plenty of time for that! I am really fussy with colours too and can not stand all the browns, oranges and dull colours that appear to be in the shops this season. No I want to keep my little girls looking like little girls, pretty, girly and young, after all they are only 3 years and 14 months old.

I live in the middle of nowhere on the coast in South Devon and while it is very pretty the main drawback is that there are no shops to indulge in my guilty pleasure, probably good for our bank balance! Instead I resort to the internet. I love it when the girls are asleep, I settle back with either a glass of wine or cup of coffee and browse my favourite sites, purchasing when I see something I love.

For more guilty pleasures head over to Sticky Fingers to check out the other entries.

Pretty Hair With A Bit Of Flair Review & Giveaway

As you may already know I love everything girly especially hair bows and ribbons for my little girls. Therefore I was delighted to be approached by Kraft Work Boutique to trial and review some of their new hair accessories. I didn't really know what to expect but was thrilled to open up the package to find this:

There was a mix of colours, size and patterns to go with a variety of outfits. All of which are gorgeous.  In fact our bow holder is getting quite full now so the little tub they came in would be handy to keep some of the clips in too.

Poppy's favourites are these clips.  She thinks they are fantastic:

She also loves this hair bow and couldn't wait to get it in and model it for me.  As soon as it was unwrapped it was in her hair:

Kraft Work Boutique is run by a mummy that loves to make. She sells beautiful hand make tutus, cheeky looking sock monkeys and gorgeous wooden plaques. as well as the hair accessories. All of the items can be personalised and are made as special as can be. They are available to purchase online through KiddieBase and through facebook. There will also be a website available shortly.

Hair bows and bespoke bows can even be made to match outfits for special occasions.  The sets of clips in a kitty style are available at £4 per set and the big sis/lil sis are available at £3.50 per set. Larger bows are priced at £4 and mini bows at £3.  Quite reasonable I think!

We love them and will be visiting for more.  We give them a huge 9/10.

If you fancy some hair accessories for your little one then Kraft Work Boutique are giving one lucky person the chance to receive a bundle of goodies for themselves (worth a minimum of £20).

Ballet Shoes and Tutus, A Treat For Us Parents

It was Poppy's last ballet lesson before the Summer this morning.  Usually all the parents have to wait outside the door. Its a wooden door with glass panels and we all huddle around trying to peer in and catch a little glimpse of our little princesses. However, for the last lesson of the term we are treated to a mini show and are allowed to sit in and watch.

I now understand why we usually have to wait outside.  All the children kept turning to their parents to wave and smile or say "look at me", "look what I can do" instead of concentrating. It was very cute though and they looked adorable...a vision of pink, fluffy girlyness, just gorgeous!

I for one am very proud of my little ballerina.  She may not be perfect but she listens to her teacher, concentrates hard and does what she is told. Ballet is therefore great for discipline and is good exercise for her too. Its only a half hour lesson but she runs, hops, skips and gallops as well as doing her pilates and stretching exercises.

Because we are usually outside, we can see them but don't know what they have been asked to do.  I was thrilled to discover that the teacher gets them to really use their imaginations and join in.  They act out being fairies, princesses and dolls coming alive as they step out of magic doors.  My little one has a fantastic imagination and I know she loves this sort of thing.

I leave you with a few pictures of my budding ballerina and her friends who look like aliens thanks to my first attempt at distorting photos:

Such a cutie

The whole group, Poppy is in the middle looking directly at the camera
That's it until September for now but I ma sure she will be practising at home.

Fairy's, Photo's and Special Gifts

As you may already know (I have blogged about it here and been on Twitter too), I have been fortunate enough to receive free fairy editing for my girls form the lovely Liz over at www.photofairydesigns.com in return for my Girls being models on her Website.

Well I have received my photo and I am absolutely thrilled with it. I am going to have it printed on canvass and make it a focal point in my home. I was particularly impressed with the high speed turn around.   This one would cost £15 and you can have up to three babies/children in it.  A bargain I think.

Here it is:

As well as being a talking point in you own home and something a bit different to  treasure, I think they would make really special presents. There are a range of backgrounds to chose from for between one and three children.  I love our one which is the Magical Fairy Cottage 2 and you can see it featured on her site here.

If fairy's are not your thing then she offers others plenty of other services too.  There are all sorts of photo editing options including: photo enhancement and airbrushing, photo to DVD slideshow, photograph restoration and even Wedding invitations.  Don't take my word for it though.  Check her site out for yourselves at. www.photofairydesigns.com, you won't regret it. Subscribe via the website and you get 10% off your first order, plus you will receive other offers via email.

In the meantime I am going to get my canvass ordered before Husband comes home and says "we don't need it on canvass, I can print it out for you" hee hee.

My Little Girls Are Going To Be Fairy's

I am very excited and feeling very lucky to be getting free fairy editing from www.photofairydesigns.com. Basically, with some clever photo editing and a bit of fairy magic, they turn pictures of your little angels into something really special.  Anyone who knows me and my blog will know that I love everything girly and like my girls to wear tutus and hair bows etc, so I just know I am going to love this.

A few months ago I told My Husband that I wanted to buy a picture like this but he said, "no need to buy one, i'll do it for you".  Well he is very clever on PhotoShop and I am sure he could do it but he never has time lately and anyway I still haven't got it so I jumped at the chance of this.

All I needed to do was email over some good quality, full body shots of the girls and then they do the rest.  I had the perfect picture of Poppy but Rosie was a bit more of a problem.  The most recent shots of her are not full body, many are just of her face or she is in her pram.  I didn't really think much of it but decided that I would just take some more today.

I got Rosie up this morning and once breakfast was out of the way I dressed her in a pretty pink dress like the one her Sister was wearing in her photo. The plan was to sit her on a blanket  and take a few photos, surely one of them would be okay.  My little princess is usually very photogenic so I thought it might take about ten minutes...oh no how wrong could I be? I forgot that these days she is like a rocket!!  If she was smiling her legs weren't in it, if her body was in it, she had turned away and sometimes I even got her bottom! Anyway, to demonstrate I thought I would share some of the photos I took this morning with you:

So as you can see it took a while...about an hour in total, but we did get a few in the end which I am hoping will be okay.

Watch this space, I will share the finished article with you when it arrives!

Family Wedding and pretty dresses

Wow, this weekend has been a very busy but lovely one.  It was a family Wedding, a time for sharing in their special day, and a definite reason to get all dressed up in pretty clothes and have a party.

It was particularly exciting for our two year old:

However, being little means you can't see much in Church.  Luckily her older Cousin Olivia was on hand to help out with keeping her occupied!!

The girls could not wait for the party to start...
...so they started dancing in the street:

Shane was one of two  Best Men.  Here he is with David  looking very happy and relaxed here:

And of course the Bride looked beautiful.. I absolutely loved her dress:

However, going to a Wedding with a children is exhausting.  As you can see from this photo, Mummy was frazzeled at the start!!

All in all, the Wedding was beautiful, it was a perfect day and seemed to go smoothly.  Everyone had fun and it was great to catch up with family we had not seen in a while.
