Want To Be Yummy?

At the start of the year when I first started blogging, I was worn out, had no energy and looked a bit rough if I am completely honest! But something snapped and I decided this is not me or at least not the type of women or Mummy I want to be. I am not vain but I just wanted to feel a bit more yummy!

Since then I have been a Mummy on a mission. I have been seeking out new beauty, fashion and fitness products and accessories that will make us Mummies feel that little bit yummier. Like most of you I do not have hours of free time to spend preening or endless amounts of money either but I have learnt if I feel good about myself then my whole persona changes: I am much more happy, confident and relaxed which in turn makes me a much happier, calmer and nicer person to be around.

I am never going to be one of those women that meets their children at the school gates wearing a full face of make up, designer clothes and hair do. But that does not mean I have to go to the other extreme. I just want to feel a little bit like the old me, get my sparkle or mojo back and have the energy to run around with my girls.

I must admit it is working!!

Since opening this linky I have tried products from anti wrinkle creams to slimming products. I am taking muti vitamins to give me energy and have a new Yummy Mummy bag over my shoulder. I feel much better.

I am currently trialing some brilliant new facial products and teeth whitening products I cant wait to tell you about them very soon.

I am not spending hours in the bathroom...of course not I am a Mummy with a 14 month old and a 3 year old. I have just discovered a few products that work for me and am using them.

In the meantime I wanted to show you a photo of my favorite boots. They came from Moshulu last year and now the Summer appears to be over I have dug them out again and still love them! They look great over skinny jeans and even with skirts and dresses. They are perfect for the School run and do make me feel a bit yummy. They look lovely, are very soft and comfortable to wear and look stylish despite not having a huge heel. I love them!
My fave boots are stylish but comfortable

Husband treated me to these after we went out for lunch and discovered a hole in my Uggs (disaster!).

I would love it if you joined in by writing a post about your fave product (beauty, fashion or fitness) or even just posting a photo of it on your page, then add your name to the linky. It can even be something you have recently reviewed and loved. If you don't yet have a blog or the time then you can still join in by just leaving me a comment below.

Make Me Yummy From The Inside

Each Saturday I bring to you a new beauty, fashion or fitness product/ accessory that I believe will make us mummy's feel a little bit yummier. Some are items I have been sent to review and others are things I use and love. Whether I have been sent the item for free or not though, items will only make it in this page if I believe in them.

This weeks product is something I have blogged about a lot but never written a real review on. It's Boots re-energize energy boost vitamins.

These really are my amazing little secret which I am now sharing with you. They helped me turn from an exhausted Mummy who was just about getting through each day, into one who has time to play, clean, cook, exercise and blog. Okay they have not managed to turn me into a super mum and they do not get rid of the huge ironing pile I have but they do give me much more energy and make me feel good.

You can read some of the posts where I mention the vitamins and my increased energy levels here, here and here.

Gone are the days when I crawl into bed once the girls are asleep, now I can stay up till past ten o'clock! (check me out).

These little babies cost £9.19 for 20 tablets but they are often on Boots 3 for 2 offer so keep a look out. All you have to do is drop one fruity little tablet into a glass of water, watch it fizz and dissolve before drinking. They taste quite nice and I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels after only three days.

So over to you now, what tips, products or accessories do you recommend. Please leave me a comment to let me know.

Boudoir Privé Might Help Make Me Yummy

I have been pretty busy on the hunt for all those lotions and potions, fitness and fashion accessories or products that are going to make us Mummy's that little bit yummier. Each Saturday I write a post telling you about something I believe works and invite you all to join in with my "Make Me Yummy" blog hop sharing your favourite tips and products.

This weeks post is going to be slightly different though, as my search led me to become one of the lucky few fortunate enough to receive the first pink limited edition box from Boudoir Privé. In case you have not heard of them before, they are a Members only club where if you subscribe you will receive a goody box each month full of 4-6 deluxe sized luxury samples delivered to your front door. Perfect for this Mummy who would like to be that little bit yummier!

I have been anxiously waiting for my first box to arrive and it finally came today. Here it is:

Inside my goodies were wrapped in delicate black tissue paper, tied with a delicate pink bow and a handwritten note saying they hope you enjoy your products.

This is what I discovered once I unwrapped it:

It includes:

  • Olavie Antioxidant Body Butter
  • Jane Iredale PureLash Extender and Conditioner
  • Sachajuan Hair Repair
  • Babor HSR Lifting Extra Firming Cream
  • Bloom Green tea & White tea duo
  • Etat Libre D'Orange Like This & Rien perfume

I can't wait to try them all out and will let you know how I get on but I have a feeling these products are going to leave me feeling pampered and special and maybe a little bit yummier.

Over to you now. Please do join in and let me know about any products you recommend to others. Don't forget to add your name to the linky and grab my badge too:

Make Me Yummy Blog Hop

Hello again ladies,

Usually I post this on a Saturday but due to a very busy weekend I have not had the time. So here I am on a Sunday to tell you all about my latest must have product. This one has not been sent to me to trial (unfortunately) but it is one I use and love.

This time I give you my must have product for your hair:

TIGI S Factor Diamond Dreams Shampoo and conditioner

Infused with Diamonds, Cashmere, Champagne and Pearls this smells absolutely gorgeous. It will also make your hair feel beautiful, adding shine, hydration and strength. I love it! It makes me want to that swishy thing!

It is available from most Salons and on-line too. At the moment this duo is available for £18 from Amazon. Not the cheapest shampoo and conditioner in the world but a real treat for Mummy.  I think I deserve it!!

Now it is over to you. What products do you use and recommend to others? I am after beauty, fashion or fitness tips, products, or accessories. You can even tell us about upcoming relevant events. Just write a post (recent reviews are acceptable as long as you believe in them), then add your name to the linky. You can even grab my badge if you wish.

Us Mummy's don't have that much time to spend on ourselves and most of us spend our pennies on our children, so if we can save each other time and money by recommending things that really work, that has got to be good hasn't it?

Looking forward to reading your posts.

This Mummy Wants To Feel A Bit More Yummy!

wouldliketobeayummymummy

This Mummy really wants to look and feel a little bit yummy so each Saturday I review a beauty, diet or fitness product that I think makes me feel a bit special. Sometimes they are things I have been sent to trial and review and sometimes they are just things I use and love.  However, they will only ever make it on Make me Yummy if I think they really work and that is a promise!

This weeks product from me is TIGI Bed Head After Party.

This is something I discovered at a hair salon years ago and have been using ever since.  I love it. Definitely my secret to shiny, healthy looking hair.

Basically it is a smoothing cream which aims to smooth, straighten de-frizz and make your hair shine.

It is available form a number of hair salons and on-line retailers for about £15. To be honest it lasts for absolutely ages so is definitely worth it. You use such a tiny amount of it. Just a small blob between your palms and then rub it in through your hair.  Its very lightweight, not greasy at all and leaves your hair feeling and smelling gorgeous.

Bed Head After Party is perfect for Mums on the go.  If running late and you don't have time to wash your hair, rub a little bit of this through it, brush it and go. You can use it on wet or dry hair but I like to use it after straightening.

The only thing I don't really like is the shape of the bottle/tube.  It looks a little bit rude!

A fab product and scores a 9/10 from me!

If you have beauty, fashion or fitness tips of your own, products, accessories or events that you think other Mummies would be interested in then feel free to share details.  All you need to do is post a short post, photo or tip and add your name to the linky below.  It can even be a recent review you have done as long as you believe it works for you!

Please do join in and grab the badge too.

Make Me Yummy Blog Hop - Week 8

wouldliketobeayummymummy

Its Saturday again already and that means time for another Blog Hop. For those of you who don't know I am on a mission to find beauty, fashion and fitness products/ accessories to make us Mummy's feel a little bit yummier. We are always so busy looking after our children and families we often neglect ourselves so I have been on the hunt to trial things and report back to you those that work.

I would also like to hear your tips so to join in all you have to do is write a short post or post a picture of something you think will make us feel yummy. Then add your name to the linky and feel free to grab my badge at the bottom too.

This weeks product is Happy feet by LUSH.

I was fortunate to be sent 2 of these fabulous new products to trial and had to tell you about them immediately.

Happy feet is a limited edition gift for the summer.  It includes three footcare products and is presented in a lovely looking reusable Knot-Wrap bag. Products include a Stepping Stone foot scrub to revive tired feet. A cooling and minty Fair Trade Foot Lotion and a Volcano foot mask to sooth and soften. Each Happy Feet gift also comes with a free download from The Spell CD.

I got to trial the foot scrub and the Volcano foot mask but think it would have been nice to have finished off with the foot lotion too.

First the foot scrub. This smells gorgeous...very similar to avobath which is one of my favourite bath ballistics.  You can see a review I have previously done on them here. It is bright green and has a very citrusy scent.  You basically break a bit off and rub it into tired feet.  It made mine feel all lovely and soft and smell delicious.  A bonus when it comes to your feet.

Trialling the volcano foot mask had my husband in hysterics.  It comes in a little pot, is grey in colour with a grainy texture. You literally rub a bit all over your feet and then wrap them in cling film or plastic bags.  Without any cling film I resorted to carrier bags as you can see from this photo (the things I do for my blog):

I must admit though, after ten minutes of relaxing with my feet like this, my feet felt lovely.  I scrubbed it all off in the shower and it left my feet feeling all kind of clean and zingy!!

I would give these products a huge 9/10 and would love to try the lotion too. I am a huge fan of Lush products anyway and am going to add these products to my list of favourites.

So that's me for this week, over to you now.  Cant wait to read all your top tips and discover some new products for myself.  dont forget to grab my badge if you wish.

Make Me Yummy Blog Hop - Week 7

wouldliketobeayummymummy

Its Saturday again and time for another blog hop.  For those of you who don't know I am on a mission to find beauty, fashion and fitness products that really work and will make us Mummy's feel that little bit yummier.

This week my fabulous finds are lush products.  I have been a huge fan of Lush since they first opened but recently I was fortunate enough to be sent some lush products to trial and review including Avobath and Sugar Scrub.
Avobath is one of the Lush bath ballistics.  At only £2.99 for 180g these really do not cost the earth and are a lovely treat for mum's at the end of the day.  This one happens to be my favourite one.  It has  a gorgeous citrus scent that is really quite delicious.

Fresh avocados are mixed in with the fruit and lemongrass to leave your skin feeling super soft and silky. Once you have filled your bath with lots of lovely warm water, drop it in and watch it turn the water into a shimmering green pool.  Sometimes as an extra treat I like to add a few bubbles too.... heavenly!! A great product and one you will always find in my bathroom.

Even with skin as sensitive as mine these Lush ballistics are great and score a massive 10/10 from me.  There really isn't anything I would change about them.  They also do a huge variety of scents and colours so there truly is something for everyone.

The sugar scrub costs £2.65 for 100g so again not too expensive. This fab new product looks and smells pretty similar to the avobath but is very different
"Its no nonsense stance stimulates activity and tackles cellulite with fennel and ginger. Skin calming lavender has a balancing effect. Get yourself wet in the shower or bath, but don't let the bar get under the running water or it'll be lost before it can prove itself. Scrub, scrub, scrub and rinse away. It doesn't waste any time getting down to business".
Although I don't have cellulite I definitely liked the way my skin felt after using it.  It felt amazingly clean, smooth and fresh.  I will mention that it is quite scratchy but I quite like that...you might not.  Also its quite hard making sure it does not all disintegrate too quickly.  Try snapping a bit of and just using that bit. I would give it a score of 8/10.

So come on then ladies, what are your favourite products, tips or accessories that make you feel yummy?  Please share.  Just write a post or take a photo and add your name to the linky.  Feel free to grab my badge too.

For the record I was sent one advobath ballistic and  one Sugar Scrub to try but all words and opinions are my own.  Watch this space too for more lush review's as I have been sent a variety of other new products to try including some for men (Husband is kindly helping out).

Make Me Yummy Blog Hop - Week 5

Hello ladies,

Due to CyberMummy, I missed last week but I am back again this week with an exciting new product to tell you about.

Before I tell you about it, for those of you that are here for the first time this is a blog hop.  I am on the look out for beauty products, treatments, accessories and tips... anything that will make us ladies feel a little bit yummier.  I am not vain or neglecting my children by focusing on myself.  I just want a bit of my sparkle back and feel like the old me before having children.  If I feel good, my Husband and children reap the benefits! I know there are lots of Mummy's out there who feel just like me so come on and join in.

This weeks top product to make us Mummy's Yummy is Kiwi Foot Silk.  A bargain at only £2.99 for 100mls it does not break the bank so really is worth a try. You can buy it from most pharmacies and supermarkets.

Each summer I get new flip flops and always end up with cuts, blisters, scape's and scars on my feet...yes I know, not very clever and not very yummy.  For this reason anything that promises to  protect my feet from shoe friction is worth a try.

Kiwi foot silk claims to keep your feet smooth and dry by wrapping them in an invisible shield of pure silk (sounds heavenly) and 24 hour efficacy.

I decided to test this product out last weekend on CyberMummy day.  I sprayed my feet first thing in the morning, slipped on my new leather flip flops and off I went. It  has a very light floral scent, not overpowering at all and leaves no sticky residue.  In fact it does actually feel surprisingly light and silky on your feet (No I wasn't paid to say that)!

For those of you that were at CyberMummy 11, you will agree there was lots of standing and walking around while trying to meet all the different PR companies and collect the various goody bags!  Usually my feet would have been killing me but they weren't. Even my Husband was amazed. He gets very concerned at my neglected feet!!

This was so great it is now going to be my new must have for my handbag this summer. Honestly I was very surprised.  Go grab yours before everyone sees how great it is and they sell out.  Definitely scores a massive  a 10/10 from me!

I was given 1 full sized tin of Kiwi Foot Silk to trial however, my views are all my own!

Don't forget to grab the badge and add your name to the linky. I am looking forward to reading all your tips.
