Before I start I must mention that this is not a sponsored post, it is just something that we use and love and would recommend to family and friends. In fact I would recommend it to anyone that listens.
We brought ours as soon as Poppy progressed to a bed at 18 months. If you have never heard of them it is worth looking. They might seem to be priced a little sleep at £29.99 but believe me it is worth it!
What is it?
The gro Clock is a clock designed to make children stay in their beds. Parents have control by setting the time that they want their children to get up. When you set it at night, children get to watch the sun set as the clock turns blue. There are stars around the clock face and these disappear as the night goes on. Then in the morning the sun will rise and the clock will turn yellow again. Its genius. It can also be set for nap time and comes with a gorgeous little book about farmyard animals showing you how it works.
Does it really work?
The only thing I would say is that you have to be consistent. In the beginning when you first start using it, your child may try and get up and come downstairs or get into your bed in the middle of the night. You have to say "NO" and take them back to their bed, explaining they can get up when the clock is yellow. If you do it half heatedly and are not consistent then this is not for you and will not work!!It took around 3 to 4 nights of putting Poppy back to bed and wiping away the tears when she first got it, but she soon got the idea. We have the alarm set for 7.30am and even if she gets up for a wee and goes back to bed at 7.20am, she will happily stay in her room until the clock is yellow. Its amazing!! We have even been known to set it for later when we want a lie in at the weekend hee hee!
There really is no reason for your children to get up at obscene times of the morning anymore. Just invest in one of these!!
We would give the gro-clock a massive score of 10/10. Don't take my word for it though, check it out for yourself. They can be found at www.gro.co.uk, Amazon, Argos and a variety of other stores.
